the time has come.....

Ok... I've lost 12 pounds in the last 10 months or so and today after constantly having to "pull up my pants",  I finally realized I better go buy some new jeans.   I had pulled out some jeans from before my last pregnancy.  But I'm smaller now than I was before any of my kids!!!  I guess after wearing drawstring pjs around the house... I hadn't really noticed how much smaller my hips and butt had become!  So, maybe this week I'll take time to go shopping.  As a mom of three and an army wife, I never have time to shop for myself.  Besides not having the time, I have never LIKED shopping anyway!  But maybe I will now that I am finally feeling better about the way I look.  I guess when your heavier you don't want to buy anything cause you might just be waisting your money IF you lose the weight.  I think I'm ready and I think I'll actually have fun!

Monday is fit test for me and week 6 of round 2~  Where are you at and what do you think of Insanity?
What's your favorite Beach Body program that you would recommend?  I'm hoping to order another one soon, so that I have something else to try when I'm done.   I am also thinking that I would like something with upbeat music and a little dancing!

Today I slept in until 7 and didnt' get a chance to work out until 11 am.  It was kind of nice for a change to have all three kids up.  I put mats out for them and let them do it with me.  Even the baby was trying new moves!!!  It was the most fun I'd had in my work out in quite awhile. I also had more energy.. maybe cause it wasn't quite so darn early!

So, give it try and let your kids have fun too.  Seeing Mommy and Daddy work out is such an awesome example of motivation and determination!  Being healthy and fit should be something the whole family works on together!

I also took my kids to a Halloween party at a church tonight.  I had ONE piece of chocolate and left the rest in the car, so that my kids or I would not be tempted to eat any more before bed!  LOCK IT AWAY... and spread it out.. don't eat it all in ONE DAY!  I dare you...................

Recovery Week and Lost ONE POUND!

Almost through recovery week on round two! Wow.. I've been doing Insanity for over 4 months. Still getting excited over losing one pound!  I'm down to a weight that I haven't been since high school!!!! My abs are still toning and I think the longer I'm in this program the better I get with focusing on my core!  My abs STILL get sore.. which is a good sign that they are still improving!

So, Stay strong and don't get discouraged if your only in your first month and you haven't seen the scale drop.  IT WILL HAPPEN!  Your probably losing inches... keep that scale in the closet until FIT TEST DAY!  That's what I try to do.... the only reason I weighed this morning was because I KNEW I was lighter. I  could just tell... and I'm only 2.8 pounds from my goal.

Round 2, Day 1, Week 4

I'm over a hundred days into my my new work out routine and you'd think it would be easy for me to wake up.  I didn't get up at 5:30 like I had planned but after reading my bible, feeding the children, cleaning up the kitchen, feeding the dog etc..  I finally got it done.  I have to say Pure Cardio is my least favorite work out of the "Insanity" program.  I pushed through though and also got the Cardio Abs in at the same time!  So, tomorrow I WILL GET UP AT 5:30!!!!!!!  End of this week will be time for my 30 day, round 2 pictures!  Hopefully this week I can push harder than ever before!   Who's with me???

Think:  "PT makes me sexy!"

Tip of the day:  from my grandma Marlyc (mother of 8 and an avid exerciser),   "Just tell yourself 5 minutes.... after 5 minutes you'll feel so good you wont want to stop, I found myself going 20, 30... 40 minutes!"

She used to work out with her children in the evening, put them to bed and then work out some more....  even though she was tired from taking care of 8 children all day she found a way to GET IT DONE!

Benefits of Cardio Exercise?

Did you ever think about what our bodies were actually made to do? Take a minute to think about how easy we have it.  Try to think of someone or time in history where people had to work by the sweat of their brow. When you feel like giving up during your work out, think of that person or time... and tell yourself, if they can do it, I can do it!

So also when you do cardio exercises think of these benefits that it has on your body.
  • Increased fat loss speed
  • Stronger heart and lungs
  • Increased bone density
  • Reduced stress
  • Reduced risk of heart disease and some types of cancer
  • Temporary relief from depression and anxiety
  • More confidence about how you feel and how you look
  • Better sleep
  • More energy
  • Setting a good example for your kids to stay active as they get older

Tips of the day:
Remember if you are burning an insane amount of calories to eat enough calories and protein to fuel your body. Drink lots of water and electrolytes!  To  hydrated for your work out you need to drink a lot of water the day before!  But also make sure your water is handy throughout your work out... I sip water between each set!  You may also need to eat a small hand full of fruit for energy about 30 to 40 minutes prior.  This works well for me :)  You don't want a full stomach but you also don't want an empty stomach. God bless and have a wonderful DAY!

Calling all MOMs and Army wives....

Do you find yourself so busy that you don't have time to go to the gym?  Either your a busy working mom with children in school, you home school or you just don't want to leave your home to go "work out" ... does running take up too much of your time?  Are you stuck in a rut and feel like the the thought of changing the way you buy groceries is too hard?  Well, I'll challenge you to step out of your comfort zone...   don't think trying a new program isn't for YOU!  It's cost effective... and will give you the body you've always wanted!   Team Beachbody offers 60 or 90 day programs... or just pick a couple work outs to try.  But getting on a scheduled program has helped me immensely. It gave me a goal and something to look forward to.  By tracing my progress I was encouraged to keep on going!  If and when you start I encourage you not to watch the scale.  Get online start tracking your measurements and with in the first two weeks you WILL see results!  You may sooner than later.. but I say two weeks because that's the suggested time to record your progress with Insanity.

I am on my second round of Insanity.  I didn't have a lot to lose.. but I wanted to get fit and sexy for my hubby while he's deployed.  I lost 6 inches off my waist and am 5 pounds lighter.. with only 5 pounds left. If you have more weight to lose chances are you will lose faster than me!  I've also gained muscle mass.. so my quads, arms and butt have gotten bigger but in a good way :)

You can joing Team Beachbody with a free basic account at first...   go to www.teambeachbody.com/ARMYWIFE49 to join.
